Here is the link to view my photo story: http://www.smilebox.com/playBlog/4e4445774e54597a4f444d3d0d0a&blogview=true

Originals:                                                                                                                 Edited:

 1) For this picture I cropped and rotated it just a bit, then used the select by color tool and the fuzzy select color tool to change all shades of the blue to the pink using the paint brush, to keep depth and highlights and shadows. I then used the text tool to add my the words!
 2) I used the free select tool to out line our hands and Petrie and copied it. Then the emboss filter and then pasted the what I earlier copied into a new layer.  I then used the burn tool to add a bit of depth to the image. Finally I added text and used the rotate tool to change the angle.

 3) I used the select by color tool and the paint brush to change the color of Petrie. I also used the clone tool to take out the bedding in his pouch and then used the smudge tool to blend the color on him just a bit. I added text with the text tool, used the rotate tool and used the cage transform tool.

 4) For this picture I used the soft glow filter, border filter, then added a new layer, added gradient with the gradient tool, then used the free select tool and eraser to erase the table to show the gradient layer. I then added text with the text tool.

5) I used the predator filter, then used the smudge in the background and added text.

 6) This picture is my favorite! I first cropped the picture, then added the the cartoon filter, the old photo filter and soft glow filter. I then added the text and in the text layer I used the gradient tool with a low opacity.

 7) I used the colorize, brightness-contrast and posterize options. Then added text and finally used the soft glow filter

8) I inverted the picture, used the fuzzy select tool and the paint brush to change the color of my shirt and then used the smudge tool to blend it. Then used the text tool.
9) For this photo I used the paint brush, changing the opacity to do the purple section and the smudge tool to blend the brown added to his body. Then the text tool and move tool.

 10) For this picture I used the alien map illusion filter, color exchange, then cropped the photo and used the oilify filter. Used the text and rotate tools, then added a layer and copied a section of the original photo, pasted it into a new layer on top of the first one and changed the opacity of the layer.

11) I used the eraser tool to erase the rope, used the color fill bucket to add color to the erased section. I then altered the brightness-contrast, added text and used the rotate tool. Then added the soft glow filter.

Week 11 - Portraits

I had so much fun with this assignment! My strategy was to just take many pictures. With people posing and without, and some of my favorite pictures were when people were not posing for me. Then there is the selfie of my friend and I after a long day of work haying a yard! As for difficulties I really did not have any, because I took so many photos. I tried different light sources and lighting angles, I tried different angles in general and a lot the pictures I took (close to 50!!!) came out great.

For this photo, I simply used the erase tool to remove the people in the background.
I created a new layer for this photo and did a gradient background. I then used the erase tool to get the gradient to show and used the clone tool to "fix" the bruise on his knee and the pimple on his nose. I then used the blur tool to go over those two spots.

For this photo I simply used the paint tool and the fuzzy select tool to change the background to black.
For this picture I used the Free select tool to outline the person, then inverted and deleted the background. I then created a new layer and copied the fence background from a different photo, then used the scale tool to make the fence larger. I then created a new layer to add the lily and then used to clone and blur tool to smooth the fence lines around the lily.

This is the last photo I edited for my portraits, I only used the paint tool to color over the date.

Week 10 - Text, Clone, Patch and Paint Tools

So the first picture is my original photo and the second is my altered photo using clone tool to remove my arm and the pillow and crop tool to zoom in a bit and take out some of his surroundings.

For the next set of photos, I used the paint tool and the text tool. The first photo is the original and the second photo is the altered. I used the blotchy paint selection and purposely left white spots, hoping it would keep the fluffy look of the blanket. Then added his name in text, then using the rotate tool to angle the text.

With this last set of pictures, the first being the original again. The first altered photo, I only added text with the text tool. The second altered photo I then took the paint brush and changed the opacity and did a pink overlay in the background.
