Part 2 of this week. I waited for an opportunity to do a natural shot outside for this assignment, however the weather was less than helpful this week. I then was going to use my sister as a 'model' but our schedules did not match up. So early on morning one of my cats decided to come see me and I thought what a great opportunity (it was still somewhat dark in my room). Then my other cat gave me another opportunity!

  1. Glad to see a fellow cat lover. I adore the first 3. The facial expression says it all, with respect to how your kitty feels about the light haha. Great idea to use the flash but from different angles. It really creates very different photos with such a simple move of the camera.

  2. I love the third pic of cat 1 and the second pic of cat 2. The third pic of cat 2 is a little eerie LOL!

  3. I like the side lighting on the Tiger cat. I think the way the light is only lighting half of the face as a very dramatic, mysterious vibe to it.

  4. I agree that the third photo "side light" is very well done! As you stated it is quite dramatic. this type of treatment is a very powerful tool to employ, for it evokes the mysterious by revealing only a part of what is there. It hands a gift to the viewer to use their imagination to complete the shot. Very well done!

All of these shots are great examples of how you can use light to get different effects in your photographs...
